Selecting A Treatment Program
Once you've determined that your child needs help it's time to decide which type of treatment program will be the most successful in meeting their emotional, psychological and educational needs. This is not an easy decision, and the knowledgeable staff at Wellspring is available to answer all your questions and help you decide on a treatment program that is right for your child.
Inpatient Treatment Programs:
A change in your child's environment might be the best way to change his or her behavior. Getting a fresh start will help your child focus on achieving his or her goals and discovering the life skills necessary to return to your family. At Wellspring's Family Reconciliation Center the ultimate goal is to reunify your family.
Wellspring also offers Inpatient Chemical Dependency Treatment for Girls. This is an intensive 45-day treatment program in which the girls attend chemical dependency group therapy for a minimum of 3 times a day. Medical, Psychological, Psychiatric and Educational services are available both on site, as well as, by referral.
Licensing and Accreditation:
Wellspring is licensed by the South Dakota Department of Social Services to provide Inpatient Treatment and is accredited by the South Dakota Division of Drug and Alcohol Abuse to provide inpatient Chemical Dependency Treatment.
Outpatient Treatment Programs:
Children requiring outpatient treatment can join Wellspring's Youth Challenge Program or Soaring Eagle Treatment Center. Psycho-educational groups focus on destructive and empowered thinking, anger management, values, social skills and other topics depending on youth and/or community need. Outpatient programming is tailored to prevent out-of-home placement, as well as, to help reintegreate youth back into their homes and communities upon discharge from out-of-home placement.
Soaring Eagle Treatment Center also offers outpatient chemical dependency treatment for both boys and girls ages 10 through 18. This treatment is designed for youth who need a structured outpatient program for recovery but do not need 24-hour supervision. Soaring Eagle provides a solution-based program to meet the clients' objectives on a individual, group and family basis.
In Home Services:
Wellspring's Family Based Services are provided in the family's home. Youth and families enrolled in this program receive the following benefits:
- Crisis intervention
- Assessment
- Family and individual therapy
- 24-hour a day availability
- Family advocacy and referral
Parent Education Groups:
Wellspring's parenting classes are based on the curriculum "Parenting Teenagers: A Systematic Training for Effective Parenting. The program enhances skills and understanding so parents can guide their teens to be responsible, cooperative and independent.
